Unix Timestamp Converter

Turn an epoch value into a readable date, or a date into a Unix timestamp, in seconds or milliseconds.

Results appear here.

About this tool.

A Unix timestamp counts the seconds since 1 January 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC, known as the epoch. Databases, logs, JWT tokens and APIs store times this way because a single number has no timezone or format ambiguity.

Paste a timestamp and this tool decides whether it is in seconds or milliseconds, then shows ISO 8601, UTC and your local time. You can also pick a date and get the matching timestamp.

Three steps, then you are done.

  1. Enter a value

Paste a timestamp, or choose a date and time.

  2. Click Convert

The tool detects seconds or milliseconds.

  3. Copy what you need

Use ISO, UTC, local time or the numeric values.
