Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India is charged at slabs such as 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. Shop owners, freelancers and buyers often need to work out the tax on a price, or find the original price from a GST-inclusive bill.
Add GST multiplies the base price by the rate. Remove GST divides an inclusive amount by (100 + rate) and multiplies by 100 to recover the base. For intra-state sales, GST splits equally into CGST and SGST, shown here. Verify current slabs with the official GST portal.
